<p>PURPOSE: An error processing decoder and decoding method are provided to conceal errors that are generated in a decoding step and capable of being detected, and to restore the errors rapidly. CONSTITUTION: When an error is generated while variable length decoding is performed by inputting bit streams to an image decoder(310,320), the decoder discards data of image processing unit related with the location where the error is generated and requests intra coding data(330,340). The error generation location is replaced with data of a previous image processing unit(350). When image data intra-coded is inputted(360), the replacement step is stopped and intra-decoding is executed(370).</p> |
