PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous secondary battery with high cycle characteristics and high load characteristics. SOLUTION: The surface of a carbon particle 221 is coated with a hydrate layer 221b of aluminum oxide. Fine roughness 221c is formed on the surface of the hydrate layer 221b of the aluminum oxide, and by the presence of the fine roughness 221c, lipophilic nature with an electrolyte is enhanced.
