Apparatus for generating spreading sequences for a transmitter of a CDMA communication network

The device has a calculating module for constituting a two-dimensional intermediate matrix. The module transforms the matrix into a final matrix and delivers sequences which are orthogonal with each other. Each sequence has coding elements respectively constituted by values of elements contained in a row of the final matrix and serves to spread spectra of signals associated with different communications links before the signals are modulated and transmitted. The module determines gold code sequences and mixes the gold code sequences with the orthogonal sequences. An independent claim is also included for a method for generating sequences of coding elements of signals in a signal transmitting equipment of a code division multiple access communications network.
