Sorting of wood chips

Classifying method involves introduction of the mixture atop a centrifugal classifying unit (1) and mixture falls into a classifying chamber. In the classifying chamber bulk of the mixture is carried into a rotor (6) of the centrifugal classifying unit by counter-flowing gas or gas mixture, which is circulated by a blower (5). Coarser particles are thrown-back by the rotor, against the gas flow, into the upper classifying chamber. Finer particles are taken along by gas flow towards the centrifugal force of the rotor and supplied and separated to a separating cyclone (4). The particles, which were ejected either by the rotor or fallen over at the rotor are supplied to a counter current classifier (2). The portion of particles, which were fallen over at the centrifugal classifying unit are supplied again, with the appropriate gas flow, to centrifugal classifying unit. The coarse fraction at the end of the counter current classifier is isolated in a settling hopper (3). An independent claim is also included for the classifying device.
