Provided is a display device including: a first substrate (110) and a second substrate (120) facing each other and including a plurality of cells (114) between the first and second substrates; an electron accelerating and emitting unit(131, 132, 133,140) disposed between the first and second substrates, and accelerating and emitting electrons; a gas including N 2 filled in the cells, and excited by the electrons emitted by the electron accelerating and emitting unit to generate ultraviolet rays; and a light emitting layer (115) excited by the ultraviolet ray to generate visible light, and disposed on an outer surface of the first substrate or the second substrate. As a result, the voltage for driving the display device can be lowered, and the luminous efficiency of the device increases.
