摘要 The present invention relates to an atmospheric multi-phasic controlled injection discharge (AMPCID) plasma system for sustainable disinfection and purification of liquids and gasses, in particular water and air. The system may be combined with plasma-assisted photo-catalysis. The combined use has a surplus value and synergistically favorable effect regarding efficiency and efficacy as well as energy consumption for disinfection and removal of residual and persistent micropollutants from liquids and gasses such as water and air. The energy that is employed to generate plasma producing light and highly activated chemical species is at the same time utilized for the activation and regeneration of the photo-catalyst that additionally contributes to the disinfection and purification process.
