PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent reduction in an operation rate by the whole stopping of a line, by keeping a flow of the line by acting as its substitute by the other machine tool, even if one machine tool becomes a nonprocessible state, while arranging the machine tool in series. SOLUTION: This machine tool production system has (n) units of machine tools 1<SB>A</SB>to 1<SB>E</SB>arranged in series, and a work carrying means 2 for carrying a work between these machine tools 1<SB>A</SB>to 1<SB>E</SB>. Processing of (n) processes to the work is shared and performed in order by the serially arranged respective machine tools 1<SB>A</SB>to 1<SB>E</SB>with respective processes A to E. This machine tool production system enables the respective machine tools 1<SB>A</SB>to 1<SB>E</SB>to perform the processing of at least one process A to E separate from the processes A to E shared by the respective machine tools 1<SB>A</SB>to 1<SB>E</SB>. The respective machine tools 1<SB>A</SB>to 1<SB>E</SB>have a nonprocessibility detecting means 9. A process sharing switching means 11 is arranged for switching process sharing to a separate machine tool by detecting information of this nonprocessibility detecting means 9.
