Method and device for idle discharge of an inkjet printhead

The method involves relatively moving a parallel unit (4) in a flat area or in a layer parallel to a nozzle surface of an ink print head in connection with a free-injection of the print head. Ink drops ejected from the print head are redirected in motion of drops by a fast rotating movement of a disc (40) or the parallel unit during the free-injection of the print head, where the print head is moved during the free-injection. An independent claim is also included for a device for free-injection of an ink print head of an ink print system.
