PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a piston and a connecting rod to be attached to each other in a regular positional relationship and thereby to prevent the wrong attachment thereof. SOLUTION: This piston 14 has a piston body 42 with piston ring grooves 41 formed on its circumferential surface and bosses 45 and 46 with boss holes 45a and 46a for respectively fitting ends of a piston pin 16 thereto formed therein, and the connecting rod 15 is attached to the piston by the piston pin 16. A cut-out part 51 for permitting the insertion of the piston pin is formed at the piston body 42 by making it correspond to the boss hole 45a for fitting one end of the piston pin 16 thereto, and a closing wall 52 for blocking the insertion of the piston pin is formed at the piston body 42 by overlapping it on the boss hole 46a for fitting the other end of the piston pin 16 thereto.
