PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smoothly openable-closable double hung window capable of opening and closing a movable shoji by remote control. SOLUTION: This double hung window has a window frame, the paper sliding screen 20, and a pair of ropes 651 and 652 connected to both left and right ends of the paper sliding screen 20. The other end of the ropes is connected to a balancer device 655, and the midway part is wound on a pair of rotary drums 656 and 657. The respective rotary drums are connected by a rod bar 660, and synchronously rotate in response to operation of a dial 610. When synchronously rotating the respective rotary drums 656 and 657 by the remote control, a hoisting quantity and a run out of the ropes wound on the rotary drums become the same, and the paper sliding screen 20 smoothly opens and closes without inclining.
