A process for producing a plastic running wheel for a circulating pump, comprises injection moulding a cover plate (1) with an attachment piece (1a). The cover plate has scoops on one side. A second plastic section forms the front cover plate (2) and has grooves (2a) on the inside which are complementary to the scoop edges. Each scoop edge locates in a groove. The first and second sections are connected by ultrasound or laser welding. Before the second section is applied to the first, adhesive is applied.
