A phonon maser 1 is comprised of a resonant cavity 2, a superconductive gain medium 3, and pumping means 4. The resonant cavity 2 is comprised of highly reflective means 6 and partially reflective means 7. The superconductive gain medium 3 is an elongated superconductor, which may be a crystalline high-temperature ceramic superconductor, a single-crystal superconductor, or a superlattice. The pumping means 4 provide electromagnetic energy for the superconductive gain medium 3 in order to form and then to excite Cooper pairs. Trapped in the resonant cavity 2 and amplified by the population inversion, the resonating bundles of superimposed free phonons eventually break through the partially reflective means 7 and enter the vacuum as a coherent beam of bundles of superimposed guest phonons. This beam changes properties of the ambient space including its gravitational energy. |
