The method involves transmitting the transaction authorization identification data and providing a stored list (26). The list is accessed for determining the codes assigned to the data. A transaction processing data record is generated using the codes which are determined from the list. The record is transmitted over a communication network (28) to an electronic transaction processing system (30). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a transaction system comprising a data storage area (2) an end device arrangement of a transaction system (3) a transaction authorization unit of a transaction system.
