<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive optical plug socket that can prevent direct viewing of a light beam and that can prevent dust from entering inside. <P>SOLUTION: The optical plug socket is equipped with: a body 1 that is installed inside a mounting hole formed on the outside of an erected structure and that is provided with an opening; a cover 2 that is pivotally attached to the opening of the body 1 in a manner freely opened/closed and that is formed with a plug inserting port 23a into which an SC plug is inserted, wherein the SC plug is provided at the tip end of an optical fiber cable from communication equipment on the indoor side of the erected structure; a general purpose adaptor 3 which holds, in an optically coupled state, the SC plug attached to the cover 2 and an MU plug provided at the tip end of the optical fiber cable pulled in from outdoors; a protective door 82 which is attached to the cover 2 opposite to the plug inserting port 23a and which blocks the plug inserting port 23a to make it freely opened/closed; and a shutter block 8 provided with a returning spring 83 which elastically energizes the protective door 82 in a direction closing the plug inserting port 23a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
