A method for extracting water from air even without supply of electricity from a power source or supply of fuel, and a device therefore are disclosed. A device used for a method for extracting water from air at least comprises a hygroscopic roller rotatably pivoted, having hygroscopicity and including at least one region allowing air to pass therethrough in the direction of the thickness thereof, a regeneration passage whose opposite ends respectively open in the two opposed surfaces of a regeneration region, which is part of the region of the hygroscopic rotor, for regenerating the hygroscopic rotor absorbing moisture, the regeneration passage serving to circulate air for regenerating the hygroscopic rotor, and a drain hole disposed below the regeneration passage for taking out condensation water from the regeneration passage. ® KIPO & WIPO 2007
