PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a split structure of an excavator enabling easy recycling of the excavator by pulling back the entire part of the excavator to a start position by effectively using a constructed pit and a method of pulling back the excavator. SOLUTION: The excavator 1 is detachably divided in the longitudinal direction so that its longitudinal dimensions D1, D2 becomes smaller than the internal width dimension of the constructed tunnel pit, and also detachably divided in the vertical direction 2a, 4a, 10b, 30b, 42b so that its vertical dimension H becomes smaller than the internal vertical dimension of the constructed pit.
