PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airtight structure within wall and its work method superior in work execution performance and cost reduction. SOLUTION: In the airtight structure of a building, axial members 8 like pillars, studs, etc. are erected on the upper surfaces 5a of horizontal members 5 like the foundation, lateral members, etc.; floor joists 9 supporting floor materials are horizontally placed on the surface of the horizontal members 5; and an airtight sheet 6 is laid over the indoor side of heat insulation materials 10 provided above the horizontal members 5. The vertical piece 2 of a sectional L-shaped airtight member 1 with a length equal to the space between the two axial members 8 comes into contact with the upper surface of the horizontal member 5; the horizontal piece 3 of the airtight member 1 extends until it contacts the airtight sheet 6 and also both the axial members positioned at its both sides with its both ends; and the airtight sheet 6 extended up to the end of the horizontal piece 3 of the airtight member 1 is laid.
