PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door smoothly movable in the lateral direction without being obstructed by an operation part when the sliding door is moved laterally. SOLUTION: A hand hooking groove 3a is formed in the side end surface of a sliding door body 2 extendedly in the vertical direction. A slide operation part 6 locking and unlocking the sliding door by vertical sliding operation is vertically slidably inserted into the hand hooking groove 3a. Since the entire part of the slide operation part 6 is not projected from the sliding door body 2, the slid operation part 6 does not obstruct when the sliding door 1 is moved laterally.
