PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifting magnet in which an attracting efficiency is increased by increasing a field gradient on the outer pole side and decreasing a magnetic flux leaking to parts other than a hoisted load. SOLUTION: This lifting magnet 1a comprises a ferromagnetic inner pole 12 extending in a predetermined direction, a first coil 20 wrapped around the inner pole 12, a second coil 21 wrapped around the first coil 20, the ferromagnetic outer pole 13 installed around the second coil 21, a ferromagnetic yoke 11 installed at one ends of the coils 20, 21, and a ferromagnetic intermediate pole 14 installed between the coils 20 and 21 so that their one ends are exposed from a non-magnetic member 15 to the outside. By dividing a conventional coil into two coils 20, 21 and installing the intermediate pole 14 functioning as a pole in the same manner as in the case of the inner pole 12 and the outer pole 13 between the coils 20 and 21, the field gradient on the outer pole side can be increased and the magnetic flux leaking to the parts other than the hoisted load can be reduced.
