PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a falling prevention device of a lifting body capable of forcibly locking a hook to a rack disposed along the lifting direction of the lifting body by detecting the cutting of a wire rope for suspension and supporting by a variation in the tension of the wire rope and stopping the falling of the lifting body by stopping the lifting body while relieving the damping force of the lifting body by falling. SOLUTION: This falling prevention device comprises the lifting body 1 suspended and supported by the wire rope 2, so as to be liftable the rack 7 disposed along the lifting direction of the lifting body 1, and the hook 4 projecting from the lifting body 1 by the detection of the variation in the tension of the wire rope 2 due to the cutting and locked with the rack 7 to stop the falling of the lifting body 1.
