A stylet device includes a deformable stylet having an elongated shape and being provided with at least one actuator wire lumen extending in an axial directi on in a position that is radially off-center with respect to a cross section of the stylet. A t least one actuator wire is inserted into the actuator wire lumen. One end of the actuator wire is affixed to the stylet. A tension-conferring means is connected to another end of the actuat or wire for imparting tension to the actuator wire. A medical tube assembly includes the stylet device and a medical tube having an interior into which the stylet of the stylet device is inserted.
