PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practicable method for producing a high-refractive index resin by which yellowing can be suppressed at a high level even by heating over a long period. SOLUTION: The method for producing the high-refractive index resin comprises polymerizing and curing a composition containing an episulfide compound in the presence of a polymerization catalyst. In the method for producing the high-refractive index resin, a compound having a structure represented by formula (2) (wherein, X represents hydrogen, oxygen, an alkyl group, an ester group or an alkoxy group; and Y represents hydrogen, a hydroxy group, an alkyl group, an amino group, an oxime group or an ester group) and a thiol compound are used in combination.
