Stabilized polyamide composition, characterized in that as stabilizer at lea st one copper salt and at least one organic halogen containing compound are contained, wherein the organic halogen containing compound is selected amount the group consisting of: (d) aromatic compounds; (e) aliphatic phosphates; and (f) paraffins; or mixtures thereof, with the proviso that, if the aromatic compound is a brominated styrene oligomer the polyamide is not polyamide 4.6.
