VARIABLE CAPACITY ROTARY COMPRESSOR AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME

A variable displacement rotary compressor and a control method thereof are provided to increase pressure or temperature of a low pressure part slightly at a chattering noise generating section by controlling a hot gas bypass valve, thereby helping a vane to escape from the chattering noise generation section in a short time. A variable displacement rotary compressor includes a vane controller(60) for controlling the movement of a vane(43) via discharging/suction pressure of the compressor. A hot gas bypass valve(100) is connected between a discharge pipe(77) and a suction pipe(70) through a bypass pipe(102). A control part opens the hot gas bypass valve before converting the moving state of the vane to the restraining state so as to increase pressure applied to the vane by the discharge pressure of the compressor temporarily. The hot gas bypass valve is opened before the vane is converted from the moving state to the restraining state while the pressure of low pressure part of a refrigerant cycle is lower than preset pressure.
