A microcontroller and a technology related to the same are provided to realize a power-off mode capable of resuming a program and save/restore information needed for resuming the program conveniently at high speed when a standby state blocking supply of internal operational voltage or a state cutting off the internal operational voltage is realized. A power controller(2) outputs a power-off request signal to a CPU(1) by responding to a power-off event. The CPU saves information needed for resuming a program to an information storing part(4) when the power-off request signal is received, and outputs a save complete signal to the power controller after the information is completely saved. The power controller outputs the power-off control signal to a PSU(Power Supply Unit)(5) when the save complete signal is received. The PSU cuts off power supplied to the CPU when the power-off control signal is received. The power controller outputs a power supply control signal to the PSU by responding to a power-on event. The PSU starts supplying the power to the CPU when the power supply control signal is received. The power controller outputs a resume request signal to the CPU after waiting for that voltage of the supplied power is stabilized.
