Bicyclic-aromatic derivatives (I) are new. Bicyclic-aromatic derivatives of formula (I), their optical and geometrical isomers and their salts are new: R1 = methyl, -CH2OR2 or -CO-R3; Ar1 = a group of formula (a)-(c): Ar2 = furyl, thienyl, pyridinyl or a group of formula (d) or (e): X = a group of formula (f)-(i): R2 = H, lower alkyl or -CO-R16; R3 = H, lower alkyl, -NR''R' or -OR17; R4,R5,R7 = H, polyether, lower alkyl or -OR18; R6 = tert.butyl; R6 + R7 = 6-membered ring (optionally substituted by methyl and/or optionally including S or O); R8 = tert.butyl, adamantyl, aryl or aralkyl; R9 + R10 = 5-6 membered ring (optionally substituted by methyl and/or optionally including S or O); R11 = H, 1-9C alkyl, OH, alkoxy, polyether or -OR19; R12 = H, OH, alkoxy, polyether or -OR19; R13 = H, lower alkyl or -COR20; Y = O or -CH2-; R16, R20 = lower alkyl; R17 = H, 1-20C alkyl, alkenyl, mono- or polyhydroxyalkyl, aryl, aralkyl (optionally substituted) or a sugar; R', R'' = H, lower alkyl, mono- or polyhydroxyalkyl, aryl (optionally substituted) or amino acid; R' + R'' = heterocyclic ring; R18 = H, lower alkyl or R19; R19 = alkenyl, mono- or polyhydroxyalkyl, aryl, aralkyl (optionally substituted) or -(CH2)n-R21; R21 = heterocyclic ring, monohydroxyalkyl, thiol (optionally substituted by one lower alkyl), amino (optionally substituted by at least one lower alkyl), -COOR22 or -CON(R23)R24; R14, R15, R22 = H or lower alkyl; R23, R24 = H, lower alkyl or aryl (optionally substituted); R23 + R24 = heterocyclic ring; n = 2-9; and provided that Ar1 is a group of formula (c) and X is a group of formula (f) or (g), then R11 is -OR19 or polyether, or Ar2 is a group of formula (d) with R12 being -OR19 or polyether; that R11 is methoxymethoxy on ortho position of Ar2 when Ar1 is a group of formula (c), X is a group of formula (f), R12 is H and R1 is COR3 with R3 being -OR17 and R17 being H; and that R12 is methoxymethoxy on ortho or para position of Ar1 when Ar1 is a group of formula (c), X is a group of formula (f), R11 is methyl on ortho position of Ar2 and R1 is COR3 with R3 being -OR17 and R17 being H. |
