#CMT# #/CMT# Cosmetic composition comprises an anionic surfactant, a liquid ester of 4-6 carbon carboxylic acid and 12-26 carbon alcohol, a cyclodextrin or its derivatives and an acrylic polymer thickener, in an aqueous medium. #CMT# : #/CMT# Independent claims are included for: (1) a process of cosmetic treatment of the keratinous matters, particularly hair, comprising applying the composition to the keratinous matter and optionally rinsing the treated matter with water; and (2) a method of improving the storage stability of the cosmetic composition. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# The composition is useful as a foaming agent composition e.g. shampoos, gel-shower and foam baths for the keratinous matter, particularly for hair, particularly to condition before or after hair-coloring and bleaching (claimed). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The composition is stable and provides permanent softness, coloring and bleaching effects to the hair (claimed). #CMT#ORGANIC CHEMISTRY : #/CMT# Preferred Components: The cyclodextrin is alpha , beta or gamma cyclodextrins, preferably beta -cyclodextrins. The cyclodextrin is present at 1-10 wt.%, 1.5-5 wt.%. The surfactant and the cyclodextrin are present: in the form of an insoluble complex in composition; and/or to give luster to the composition. The ester is of formula R1COOR2. The ester is present at 0.1-20 wt.%, preferably 0.2-10 wt.%. #CMT#PHARMACEUTICALS : #/CMT# Preferred Composition: The composition further comprises a conditioner. The composition is present in the form of gel, milk, cream, lotion or foam. Preferred Components: The conditioner is poly-alpha -olefin, fluorinated oil, wax or gum, esters of carboxylic acids different from the above esters, silicones, cationic polymer, mineral, vegetable or animal oil and/or (pseudo)ceramides. The conditioner is present at 0.001-10 wt.%, preferably 0.01-3 wt.%. #CMT#POLYMERS : #/CMT# Preferred Components: The polymer thickener is: an acrylic associative thickener, crosslinked acrylic acid homopolymer or crosslinked (meth)acrylic acid and 1-6C alkyl acrylate copolymer (all three preferred), non-ionic homopolymers and copolymers containing with ethylenic ester and/or amide monomers; ammonium acrylate homopolymers or copolymers or acrylamide; (meth)acrylamido (1-4 carbon)alkyl sulfonic homopolymer or copolymer; or 1-4 carbon alkyl methacryoyl 1-4 carbon trialkyl ammonium crosslinked homopolymer or copolymer. The acrylic associative polymer thickener is an anionic amphiphilic acrylic resins comprising a hydrophilic group of formula CH 2=C(R 1>)COOH, preferably (meth)acrylic acid or ethacrylic acid and a hydrophobic group of formula CH 2=C(R 1>)COOR 2>, preferably 10-30 carbon alkyl (meth)acrylates or ethacrylates. The thickening polymer is present at 0.001-20 wt.%, preferably 0.1-3 wt.%. The surfactant is salts: preferably alkaline salts e.g. sodium, ammonium, amino, aminoalcohol or magnesium salts; alkyl sulfates, alkyl ether sulfates, alkyl amido ether sulfates, alkyl aryl polyether sulfates, monoglycerides sulfates, alkyl sulfonates, alkylphosphates, alkylamidosulfonates, alkylaryl sulfonates, alpha -olefin-sulfonates or paraffin-sulfonates; alkyl sulfo succinates, alkyl ether sulfosuccinates or alkyl amide sulfosuccinates; alkylsulfosuccinamates; alkylsulfoacetates; alkyletherphosphates; acylsarcosinates; acylisothionates or N-acyltaurates; salts of 8-24 carbon alkyl or acyl or aryl preferably phenyl or benzyl compounds; salts of fatty acids like oleic, ricinoleic, palmitic or stearic acid; salts of optionally hydrogenated copra oil; 8-20 carbon acyl-lactylates, uronic alkyl-D-galactoside or its salts; or 8-24 carbon alkyl(amido) ether carboxylic acid polyoxyalkylene acid or its salts (having 2-50 ethylene oxide units). The surfactant is present at 4-35 wt.%, preferably 8-30 wt.%. R1 : hydrocarbon such as (mono or polyhydroxy) 3-5C alkyl, preferably tert-butyl; R2 : 12-26C (mono or polyhydroxyl) hydrocarbon, preferably tridecyl, isocetyl, isostearyl, octyldodecyl or isoarachidyl; R 1>H, CH 3 or ethyl; and R 2>10-30C alkyl, preferably 12-22C alkyl. #CMT#EXAMPLE : #/CMT# Typical composition comprised (wt.%): water (made up to 100); polyquarternium-10 (0.4); Carbomer (RTM: Cross linked acrylic acid polymer) (0.2); isostearyl neopentanoate (0.5); beta -cylcodextrin (2); sodium lauryl ethersulfate (14); betaine cocamidopropyl (2.4); dimethicone (1.5); vitamin (0.3); and preservatives (0.45).
