A method and a system for accessing package routing information on a computer network

A method of accessing package routing information on a computer network involving at least one user terminal and at least one alias server is disclosed. The method includes the steps of (a) receiving information containing a package identification, including at least a package source address, which is required by the alias server to retrieve package routing information, (b) transmitting the received information to the alias server, and (c) transferring package routing information to the user terminal, provided the alias server locates a database record corresponding to the received information and created using information obtained from an analysis of at least one package image.
