The method involves providing a collector (2). Seashells are inlaid at a surface of the collector. The seashells above the ground are reduced by sanding until a blunt and semi-rectified surface is obtained. The collector is formatted in thickness, length and width. A captured side of the collector is polished and a treatment to protect the polished side is applied at the captured side. An independent claim is also included for a collector.
