The crankshaft (10) has crank pins (14, 15, 16) distributed on its length for mounting heads of connecting rods associated to an engine cylinder piston. An inertial mass (30) is separated from the engine steering and the pins. The mass is positioned on the crankshaft at a position such that the mass is adapted to be placed in a cylinder of a four cylinder block. The pins and the mass are positioned two to two at regular pitch on the length of the crankshaft.
