The device has a support (3) comprising a part (4) that is engaged with an upper edge (5) of a door (2) of a glove compartment (6) of a motor vehicle. The part (4) of the support is inserted between the upper edge and a groove (7) of the compartment. The part (4) has a transversal section with a U shape for engagement with the edge (5) of the door. The part (4) is extended by a part (8) that is provided in the form of plate adapted for being applied against an inner side of the door. The support has an end (8a) fixed to a dorsal side of the control unit.
