An apparatus for encoding an image so that the image is searchable, an encoding method of the apparatus, and a method for searching an encoded image are provided to generate digital video data, and simultaneously encode the digital video data to effectively authenticate the video data while the video data is stored and transmitted. An encoding apparatus includes a data encoding unit(120), a pixel calculator(125), a labeling generator(130), a labeling encoding unit(135), and a data combiner(140). The data encoding unit encodes image data transmitted from an image data generator which converts an optical signal of an object, inputted from an optical system, into an electric signal to generate the image data. The pixel calculator calculates a variation in pixel values of frames before and after the video data. The labeling generator generates labeling information on the frames when the variation is greater than a predetermined value. The labeling encoding unit encodes the labeling information. The data combiner combines the encoded image data transmitted from the data encoding unit and the encoded labeling information transmitted from the labeling encoding unit. |
