FIELD: chemical industry; methods of production of the titanium trichloride. ^ SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to production of the titanium trichloride used in the capacity of the component of the active coating of the anodes in the electrolytic production of chlorine and the caustic soda and in the capacity of the catalyst in the processes of the organic synthesis. The method of production of the titanium trichloride switches on interacting of the titanium trichloride includes interaction of the -1-0 mark titanium with the specific surface 1.10-4 - 5.10-3 m2/g with the reactive hydrochloric acid at th molar ratio of Ti:HCl equal to 1:>3.0, at the temperature of 70-80° within 5-10 h.
