ASBESTOS DETOXIFICATION METHOD FOR ASBESTOS-CONTAINING COMPOSITE MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detoxifying asbestos in a composite material containing the fibrous asbestos by decomposing the fibrous asbestos of the composite material to a particulate form or a powdery form by heating a reaction solution containing a specific compound containing a chlorofluorocarbon alternative substance at a low temperature.

SOLUTION: After the composite material having the fibrous asbestos and a cement containing a calcium oxide component is immersed in the reaction solution containing calcium chloride to impregnate the reaction solution in the composite material, it is heated at a temperature of 600-800°C. Thereby, a chemical bond of Mg and Si in the asbestos compound is cut to decompose the fibrous asbestos to the particulate form or the powdery form.
