<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine which can maintain its attraction even in a structure which hinders the winning of the starter slot with game balls. <P>SOLUTION: The game machine is provided with a playing area where game balls can be rolled downm, the starter slot which is disposed in the playing area to make game balls win it, a special pattern display device which can carry out a variable display game having special symbols stopped and displayed after the start of the variable display of the special symbols and the main CPU which determines the frequency of the variable display game of the special symbols by a prescribed lottery when the starter slot is won with the game balls.
