PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft drive type motorcycle having a gear housing suitable for miniaturization and weight reduction. SOLUTION: The shaft drive type motorcycle has an arm member 18 connected to a body frame, a drive gear 44 connected to a drive shaft 42, a transmission gear 35 engaged with the drive gear to transmit the power to a rear wheel, a gear housing 30 in which the drive gear and the transmission gear are engaged with each other, an axle 22 supported by the arm member and/or the gear housing, and a rear wheel 20 rotatably mounted on the axle. The transmission gear is rotatably mounted on the rear wheel around the axle. The gear housing has an outer bearing 37 for rotatably supporting the transmission gear, and the bearing is arranged outward of the body side from a side end of the drive gear at the position close to the drive gear.
