The conveyor has two turning rolls (16, 17) and an air-permeable belt loop (20) arranged around the turning rolls (16, 17). A vacuum unit (22) creates a vacuum effect on the section of the belt loop (20) for conveying a threading tail (23) in connection with the turning roll (16). A cross-directional dividing structure (24) is arranged in connection with the turning roll (16) in the travel direction of the threading tail for creating two axial vacuum zones (25). The turning roll (16) has portions defining an axial shaft with axially extending circumferential disc-like necks. An independent claim is also included for a twin-wire dryer section in a web forming machine.
