The guide (10) has a U-shaped clamp that includes a guide channel (24) for receiving a cable, where the channel is formed in U-shape. Two projections (26, 28) are arranged in a longitudinal direction of the channel, and are arranged oppositely to each other at the side of the channel. The clamp is fastened directly to a drive rail, so that the cable in a receiver channel of the clamp is guided along the drive rail of a garage door drive. The guide is clipped in such a manner that the guide surrounds the U-shaped drive rail, where the cables are located on the top side of the drive rail.
