PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timing chain transmission device in which matching of a timing chain and a camshaft sprocket is reorganized or maintained. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with a crankshaft sprocket, at least one camshaft sprocket, a chain wound around these two sprockets and a tensioning device. The tensioning device is equipped with a pivotable tensioner blade and a chain tightener for pressing the tensioner blade against the chain. The tensioner blade is movable between the minimum tension position and maximum tension position by the chain tightener during the operation of the timing chain transmission device. The assembly of the chain tightener allows the device to move to a mounting position. A projection abutted to an engine in the mounting position is provided to a side facing the chain tightener in the tensioner blade so as to maintain the chain in a safe engaging position.
