PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an isolator allowing a replacement of equipment required for designing of a drug in minute amounts and employment of replacement target equipment in the form of a single body. SOLUTION: The isolator has a body unit 3 having a working chamber 2 allowing specified setting of the atmosphere of the inside and a sub-unit 4 which can be entered in and out of the body unit 3. The sub-unit 4 is wagon-shaped, with the body 23 arranged on a table 21, and is movable with a caster 17. The body unit 3 has an opening allowing opening and closing with a door 5, in the front face of the working chamber 2. An extension part 9 of the sub-unit 4 is formed by causing the bottom wall 10 and the lower area of the working chamber 2 to be opened forward so as to be connected to the opening in the front face of the working chamber 2. With the sub-unit 4 inserted into the extension part 9, an auxiliary plate 8 is formed along the front edge of the bottom wall 10 of the working chamber 2, and the table 21 of the sub-unit 4 is mounted air-tightly on the bottom wall 10 and the auxilariy plate 8 along the lower opening 11 of the working chamber.
