<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving body distribution estimation device capable of estimating the number and the distribution of the moving body with high precision even in a complicated scene having a number of occlusion areas. <P>SOLUTION: An image acquisition part 21 outputs data of a plurality of images taken with cameras 11-1K to a figure area extraction part 22. The figure area extraction part 22 creates a silhouette image from the plurality of the image data. An observation vector creation part 23 creates a plurality of observation vectors that binarize a plurality of the silhouette images. A description length calculation part 24 and a distribution estimation part 25 read out a shape projection model from a shape projection model storage part 26 while increasing the number of pedestrians sequentially, apply the shape projection model to the observation vector outputted from the observation vector creation part 23, and estimate the number and the distribution of the moving body when the description length of the observation vector is the shortest as the number and the distribution of the pedestrians in the moving region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
