PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser pulse compression device which restrains interference and kick of a constitution element and rises permeability, and to provide its method. SOLUTION: The laser pulse compression device has: paired diffraction gratings 1, 3; an injection means 2 which injects a laser pulse having an incidence surface forming a prescribed angle to an incidence surface perpendicular to a grating of the diffraction grating 1 including a normal of the diffraction grating 1 to one diffraction grating 1 of the diffraction grating pair 1, 3; and a reflection mirror 4 which is arranged to reflect the laser pulse passing through the inside of the diffraction grating pair 1, 3 and to inject it into the diffraction grating pair 1, 3 again.
