PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voice coil-supporting structure which is hardly damaged even if a carriage assembly to be used in a magnetic disk device becomes thin. SOLUTION: A voice coil 115a is formed by the lamination of a plurality of layers which normally swirl and held between the outer side holding part 113a of a carriage assembly and its inner side holding part 115a. The carriage assembly is formed integrally with the voice coil, as one body, by means of injection molding. The number of conductive wires, which is sufficient to form perfect layers, is not wound on the outermost peripheral layer 127, and a level difference is formed between the outermost peripheral layer 127 and an inner side layer 125. A reinforcing pad 119 is formed on the outer side holding part 113a so that it may cover a part of the side end face of the voice coil. In the outer side holding part 113a, the outermost peripheral layer 127 resists against force which is exerted from top to bottom, and the reinforcing pad 119 resists against force which is exerted from bottom to top.
