DATA RECORDING METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a beginning part of digital audio data which is an object of copyright protection from being recorded even if a reproduction position of receiving digital audio data cannot be freely controlled in recording of digital audio data including data to be copyright protected. SOLUTION: This is a method to store data including copyright protected data in semiconductor memory, to perform recording of stored data when recording is permitted by copyright protection determination, and to discard stored data when recording is not permitted. Discarding of data is performed by returning a pointer indicating the current storing position of the semiconductor memory to the position of the pointer which indicates the position of starting storage of semiconductor memory (S707).
