PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of preventing defects such as jamming due to operation error and bending of a tip by a simple configuration and preventing defect such as jamming when restarting operation with paper added after job. SOLUTION: In this image forming device provided with a manual paper feed tray 16 openable and closable in a main body and a manual paper feed device other than a main paper feed part to feed paper by manual operation, the manual paper feed device is provided with a manual paper feed base 16 for loading paper on it, a pick-up roller 13 for feeding out the loaded paper, and a feed roller 11 and a reverse roller 12 for separating the fed out paper from one another one by one. A detection means 20 for detecting a tip position of the set paper is provided to check a detection condition immediately after a paper feed instruction is given.
