PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To release a clasp and open an opening part to a fully opened state by an energizing means without deforming a dust collection part lid by an energizing means with the opening part of the dust collection chamber covered. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is provided with the dust collection chamber 4 having the opening part 8, the dust collection part lid 9 journaled to the body part 1 and openably/closably covering the opening part 8, a torsion coil spring (the energizing means) 13 energizing the dust collection part lid 9 in the opening direction of the opening part 8, and a clasp 16 locking the dust collection part lid 9 with the dust collection part lid 9 covering the opening part 8. The gravity center position of the dust collection part lid 9 is provided closer to the side of a rotational shaft 10 of the dust collection part lid 9 than the central position between the clasp 16 and the rotational shaft 10 of the dust collection part lid 9, when the clasp 16 is released, the dust collection part lid 9 is energized by the torsion coil spring 13 to fully open the opening part 8, and the gravity center position of the dust collection part lid 9 is close to the rotational shaft 10, so that even if the torque of the torsion coil spring 13 is small, the opening part 8 can be fully opened without deforming the dust collection part lid.
