<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time required to complete a sign-on process when a salesperson called for help at a cash register uses a POS terminal. <P>SOLUTION: A system comprises a plurality of POS terminals 101 that support a sleep mode function, and a higher-level machine, e.g., a store controller 301, which is connected to the plurality of POS terminals in such a manner that data can be transmitted and received. When a call for help at a cash register is declared at one of the POS terminals 101, a sign-on table defining the identification information of an operator who can sign on is downloaded from the store controller 301 to another POS terminal 101. During the sign-on process requested to recover from a sleep mode, the latter POS terminal 101 can quickly complete the sign-on process by means of the sign-on table downloaded. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
