PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the liquid ejection performance by preventing the evaporation of the liquid ejected from a liquid ejection head. SOLUTION: The liquid supplied into the ink passage 13 of the liquid ejection head 10 is provided with liquid ejection energy by an energy generating means 14 and is ejected through an ejection port 11. An ejection port structural member 12 is cooled by a cooling means 15 to forcedly cool the ejection port 11, preventing the evaporation of the liquid in the ejection port 11. The state of the ejected liquid is stabilized to prevent the variation in the liquid droplet ejection speed and the ejection direction, thereby enabling the formation of a highly defined pattern or the like.
