<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air purifying apparatus which employs a simple platelike body as a photocatalytic carrier, reliably agitates air by turbulence, and irradiates the photocatalyst carrier with ultraviolet rays with fewer light sources while keeping a small pressure loss of the apparatus by placing the photocatalyst carrier approximately in parallel to a direction of an air flow. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus is formed by providing gas purifying units in a gas flow passage. The gas purifying unit is constituted of a photocatalyst carrying plate stack formed by separating/stacking approximately rectangular photocatalyst carrying plates which carry a photocatalyst on their surfaces with an inclination angle of 3-9° to the direction of the gas flow and a barlike ultraviolet lamp inserted in the center of the photocatalyst carrying plate stack in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the gas flow. The gas purifying units are connected in a manner that the orientation of the inclination angle of the photocatalyst carrying plates is turned to the direction of the gas flow at the joint of the gas purifying units. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
