<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve in-plane uniformity and prevent the warpage or bending of a light control member in an illumination device of which the light transmittance is improved and high brightness and brightness uniformity are improved. <P>SOLUTION: In the illumination device which is constituted of at least a plurality of linear light sources, reflecting plates to reflect light from the linear light sources, a light control member that has an irregular shape in a light incident face and/or a light emitting face and that refracts, transmits, and reflects the light from the linear light sources and the reflecting plates, and projections that retain the light control member which are composed of a light transmitting material, the horizontal cross section of the projection is circular, and the diameter the tip of of the projection contacting with the light control member is 1 mm or smaller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
